Aside from being a guitar tutor, Joshua has played professionally in Edinburgh in venues such as the Prestonfield House Hotel, the EICC, Shieldhill Castle hotel, the Usher Hall and the Lothian Chambers, playing both in a solo guitar context and as part of a function band. He has also been commissioned to arrange and record music for shows in the Edinburgh festival, and play as part of the backing band for the FCT.
With original bands he has played the Liquid Rooms (both as a session guitarist and as part of an original band) and the Carling Academy, where he won the 'Best Guitarist' award, as part of the Scottish Finals of the Emergenza competition.
Aside from teaching and live performance, he also wrote the highly praised 'Plectrum Studies for the Serious Guitarist', a book of original compositions (etudes) to improve technique. To find out more, or listen to exerts, click here.

"Joshua has been an inspirational guitar teacher to my laid back, 15 year only son! The lessons are tailored to the pupils own abilities and musical tastes - he has thoroughly enjoyed them and learnt a lot in his 18 months of guitar lessons with Joshua."
